Shraddha’s drive to do this portrait session for herself and be a part of the Woman of Science / STEM campaign was to see and show the real her. Not just that, she also wanted to break the stereotypical mold of the Woman of Science / STEM. “They are not just serious workaholics”, she says. Funny, joyous, creative is all that a Woman of Science / STEM can be and more.
An IT professional by career but a woman who has always been so passionate about weaves and clothing growing up that she decided to work as a designer on weekends. People who have worn her clothing swear by her design and color sense (us included!)
Shraddha is the owner and designer of Purple Rose USA
She's an explorer who loves to chase the unknown adventure. She will happily scale the mountains of Leh Ladhak but will also find comfort in folding laundry. Her daughter happily recalls their recent memorable trip was in Kutch where they spent time exploring the local artisans and learnt about ajrakh.
Shraddha has always been logical, analytical, a puzzle lover, and a problem solving person so IT came naturally to her, but her heart always followed her mom’s foot steps and her love for fabrics and weaves and designing grew from there. Finding things that matter to the person who she dresses is her strength as a designer.
For this shoot, amongst other clothing, she decided to bring her mom's heirloom Kanjivaram piece and an Ajrakh favorite.
