She makes it happen! - A mother-daughter portrait experience
I have known Patricia for a good few months now. She is a strong, confident woman, a go-getter and a single mom to the most joyful Killian! Patricia walked into the studio with quite a few bags, things that Killian likes to carry around, like her cheese crackers and juice boxes. Both the girls turned the studio into an absolute riot, laughing, painting, dancing, and listening to Beauty and the Beast soundtrack on the loop! Killian loves everything Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and now we love Belle too!
This has got to be my personal favorite from Patricia and Killian’s portrait session - Patricia helping Killian paint, holding her and the paint brush in her mouth. Someway, somehow she makes it happen.
When talking about Killian, Patricia told me how she is making her reality fun. “She makes it fun!”
We don’t just do pretty portraits of mom and daughter. We capture this time in your life, this moment in time.
Once the shoot wrapped up and as Patricia was gathering all the things before leaving, I noticed she didn't have any hands to carry all the things with her so she casually knotted up the laces on her shoes and hung them up on the side of the bag. That picture doesn’t leave me. As simple and mundane as it sounds, and as I sat watching her walk through the doors I can’t help thinking how Patricia effortlessly manages what would typically need 10 hands for an average person. And yet here she was managing it all like a diva!
