Queen's Gambit fans anyone?
Queen’s Gambit fans anyone? Well, to begin with this is not a promotional piece on the popular Netflix series, Queen’s Gambit. It is, in fact, a guest blog from Aparna Padhye, who visited us as a client recently.
So here goes Aparna’s words:
I can’t remember the time when my son stopped using his car seat. It happened so gradually and yet just so suddenly that I didn’t remember to mark that milestone. One day I was safely tucking him in his car seat and then one day, that car seat moved out and my son was wearing his own seat belt all by himself.
One day just like that he stopped mispronouncing the word that always made me laugh!
Then a few days later we stopped doing story time at nights because he was now independent enough to read on his own.
This is just how it is. LIFE GOES ON AND CHILDREN CHANGE. The fact is that life goes on with busy routines and crazy schedules, and in the blink of an eye, your child is a grown person. That's something to think about.
Capturing my little guy’s personality in portraits that truly capture the essence of WHO HE IS TODAY, is what Kapu has done. He will outgrow the Legos, he may or may not continue to play Chess, but the joy that he gets out of playing with these things, the love that he has for them - Kapu captured them in these portraits and I now will always have this part of his childhood with me.
I was worried sick that Ryan won’t pose but kapu just asked me to bring along his favorite things (currently Lego and Chess) and then I left the room. Whatever happened between them, led to these photos. I now have those eye lashes and toothy smile all captured in beautiful wall art. Thank you from all my heart.
Now this is kapu back on the blog:
Here’s how Aparna has set up these portraits as Wall Art in their home. Click below to see how the unveiling happened and how the portraits now look as Wall Art.
Things happen, plans change, pandemic grips the world.... If 2020 has taught us all anything, it is to take no moment for granted. Hold on to the NOW! Capture it. Savor it forever.
Having portraits of your child today is priceless and it's value only grows over time. Regardless of what happens in the future, you will always have a visual reminder of their connection, love and strength.
What part of your child’s personality would you like to be captured forever? What's that one thing your child is doing today that you wish you could hang on to forever?
